Eyelash extensions rule the world!

Eyelash extensions became popular in the US in the mid-1990’s. Developed in Asia, and having entered the US market, it soon became trendy and the most wanted treatment worldwide. Eyelash extensions are now one of the most popular and sought after services in the beauty industry. Some beauty salons only specialise in eyelash extensions!

TYPES AND NAMES OF INDIVIDUAL FALSE LASHES

Individual lashes have several names: long-lasting lash building or extension, individuals, 3D (formerly) or classic 1D lashes.

With the spread of the latest technique, recently we can also hear names such as 2D, 3D, 4D, 5D, 6D, which is equivalent to the volume technique. Moreover, the mega volume technique has also gained popularity, as customers can now even ask for 12D lashes.

Many stylists are afraid that this technique makes the lashes heavy and so damages the natural lashes, but in reality, the process is harmless when done with appropriate skill and tools. Today, we can also find incredibly fine lashes with a thickness of 0.03 mm, which were specifically developed for building volume and mega volume sets.

SEMI PERMANENT EYELASH EXTENSION (ONE TO ONE LASH)

The very first type of extension. Today this technique is often referred to as 1D extensions because it technically means that one extension is being applied on each natural eyelash.

2D LASHES

This technique means doubling, where you apply two light weight extensions on each lash. Your lashes will look full and natural, and your natural lashes will not be damaged during application.

3D, 4D, 5D AND 6D LASHES

This type is often referred to as the ‘Russian Volume Technique’

It emerged from Russia, soon became popular in the US, and it has become one of the most sought after techniques in Europe. This technique practically means that 3-6 light weight, fine extensions are applied to each natural eyelash. This technique requires specialist tweezers and skills. It feels silky and light.

This technique is recommended to experienced stylist.

EYELASH LIFTING

Beside the application of eyelash extensions, eyelash lifting has also become a desired and sought after technique. It differs from the original eyelash curling technique. The Best Lash Pro Lifting System does not only result in curled lashes, but the effect lasts for 6-8 weeks. It is recommended to customers who are not keen on the traditional methods of eyelash extension, but would like to enjoy full lashes and still use mascara.

Do you have questions about false lashes?

WHAT IS THERE TO LOOK OUT FOR TO KEEP THE LASHES BEAUTIFUL AS LONG AS POSSIBLE? HOW LONG DO THEY LAST?

For lash extensions, the stylist applies one or more individual false lashes onto the natural lashes. With the right care, these will not fall off, but we will lose them when our own lashes are naturally shed. Depending on individual needs, it is best to get a top up every 2–4 weeks.

CAN WE USE MASCARA WHILE WEARING FALSE LASHES?

It is not recommended to use mascara, as the built lashes are long, black and full anyway, and it is difficult to remove the mascara from between the lashes perfectly, which can cause some problems.

IS IT OK TO LET FALSE LASHES GET WET?

After 24 hours have passed, it should not be a problem to exercise, swim or even go to the sauna with false lashes.

HOW CAN WE MAKE LONG BUT STRAIGHT LASHES LOOK IMPRESSIVE?

L, L+, LC and LD lashes are available today, which are perfect for straight lashes, but it is also recommended to get a lash lift for a truly sensational result. This method is effective in itself, but it can also serve as an excellent base for individual lash extensions for long, straight lashes.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO BE ALLERGIC TO FALSE LASHES?

Unfortunately, it is possible that some components of the lash glue will trigger an allergic reaction. If your eyes get red, swollen, start to tear unusually or you experience any discomfort, consult with your eyelash stylist immediately.

IS IT TRUE THAT FALSE LASHES DAMAGE NATURAL LASHES?

Correctly applied, adequately chosen lashes should not damage natural lashes. During the application, the stylist has to choose the right false lashes that match the natural lashes the most, and which do not make them heavy.

WHY SHOULD EYELASH STYLISTS USE MATERIALS FROM SAFE SOURCES?

Unfortunately—just as in other areas of the beauty industry—there are a large number of low-grade counterfeit products on the market, which are often below the expected quality. In order to protect the health of the customers and to provide an impeccable service, stylists must only use materials from safe, reliable sources.
